JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 25 - Concealed Carry

Adults should have the right to carry a concealed handgun. According to According to a 2000 study by John Lott, PhD , "The right to carry concealed handguns is guaranteed by the Second Amendment in the US Constitution. The Second Amendment states, "A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." (SOURCE).
This shows that the right is given to anyone to protect themselves. This also shows that we have the right to hold guns to worn off people that may try to harm us or anyone around us.
According to a 2000 report by engineering statistician William Sturdevant published on the Texas Concealed Handgun Association , "Criminals are less likely to attack someone that they believe might be armed. The deterrent effect of concealed carry benefits the individual carrying a handgun as well as the general public because criminals never know who is armed." (SOURCE).
This shows that the streets will become safer for elderly people, kids, and everyday people walking through the streets. This also shows that less people will get robed and fewer homes will get invaded due to the fact that any one person might be carrying a gun. In conclusion,adults should have the right to carry a concealed handgun to protect themselves, their family, and anyone around them.
